Rolife’s 9th-anniversary DIY art exhibition “Welcome to Dreamland” is held at Blast Furnace No.2 of Hangzhou Grand Canal Hanggang Park, an immersive offline project built around its signature miniature house IP for the brand anniversary. Historically, Rolife has focused on DIY miniature cultural and creative products, building a large community of handmade lovers and trendy toy collectors with its delicate miniature house kits. Renewed from an old industrial plant, Grand Canal Hanggang Park retains the raw, heavy industrial framework of blast furnaces. By placing a fairy-tale miniature world within industrial heritage, the exhibition magnifies the brand’s tiny creative universe to life size.
It takes the miniature dream-building experience once confined inside product boxes and transforms it into a walkable physical space. In terms of spatial design and fabrication, the venue leverages the original industrial structure of Blast Furnace No.2, divided into four themed zones: Giant Realm, dreamy light tunnel, Lilliputian miniature block and DIY co-creation space. The centerpiece is a giant Dream Island sand table showcasing abundant artworks created by community players. The brand’s classic miniature house IP is scaled up. The cold steel structure of the furnace creates striking visual contrast with soft dreamlike lighting and intricate miniature scenes. Installations balance art display and hands-on workshops, realizing the presentation of miniature craftsmanship within a monumental industrial venue.
During the exhibition, DIY creation camps and club workshops run continuously. Handcraft creators are invited to share creative ideas. Visitors can assemble miniature houses on site and submit their personal works to the Dream Island sand table, shifting their role from audience to co-creator. On-site programming and marketing are closely integrated. The contrasting scenes between industrial relics and dreamland carry high social sharing potential. Targeting DIY enthusiasts and trendy toy fans, the event generates plenty of on-location photo content and fuels online social conversations. Moving beyond conventional pop-up shows for toy launches, this anniversary exhibition reinforces the brand philosophy “Everyone is a dream-maker”. It turns the physical venue into a co-creation platform and nurtures a long-term creator community. More than simple product display, the exhibition builds emotional bonds between the brand and fans. Leveraging user-generated co-creation content, it delivers anniversary brand communication and immersive product seeding, fulfilling multiple objectives of brand cultural expression, community operation and product marketing.
